Zokinvy offers flexible dosing for your patients.1
The recommended dosage of Zokinvy is based on body surface area (BSA). For convenience and flexibility, Zokinvy is available in both 50 mg and 75 mg hard capsules.1
Missed dose
- If a dose is missed, the dose should be taken as soon as possible, up to 8 hours prior to the next scheduled dose, with food and a sufficient amount of water1
- If less than 8 hours remain before the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and resume taking Zokinvy at the next scheduled dose1
Dose adjustment for patients with persistent vomiting and/or diarrhoea
- For patients who have increased their dosage to 150 mg/m2 twice daily and are experiencing repeated episodes of vomiting and/or diarrhoea resulting in dehydration or weight loss, the dose can be reduced to the starting dosage of 115 mg/m2 twice daily1
- All daily doses should be rounded to the nearest 25 mg increment and divided into 2 equal, or near equal, doses (see Table 1)1
How to take Zokinvy
- The capsule should be swallowed whole and NOT chewed1
- Each dose is to be taken with food1
- For patients unable to swallow the capsule whole, the capsule contents can be mixed with orange juice1
- Zokinvy should NOT be taken with foods or drinks that contain grapefruit, cranberries, pomegranates or Seville oranges (otherwise known as sour or bitter oranges, including orange marmalade). Foods or drinks containing these fruits may increase the side effects of Zokinvy1
Use with loperamide
- Loperamide is contraindicated in patients aged less than 2 years. The dose of loperamide should not exceed 1 mg daily1
Use with midazolam
- Concomitant use of midazolam is contraindicated. Patients who will be receiving midazolam for a surgical procedure should discontinue Zokinvy for 14 days before and 2 days after administration of midazolam1
